Why is it beneficial to plan ideas for my magazine first?

1) So I know what pictures/information is going on what page
2) So I know what it's going to look like
3) Means I can create a production plan of what I'm going to do and when

Potential Models:

-  The artist I will be doing the main article/interview on.
-  An upcoming artist in the local area.


I will be basing my magazine on rap/hip-hop music. The idea I have had for the name of my magazine is 'The Hip-Hop Inspector'.
